Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

The prognosis for survival of acute lymphoblastic leukemia of children in all stages is now > 80%.

 
Probability for 10 year survival in 289 Norwegian children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia diagnosed during 1992–2000.

 

 
Probability for survival without recurrence (p-EFS) in 289 children between 1–15 years with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in four risk groups treated according to the Nordic treatment protocol NOPHO-ALL 1992. Ten year recurrence-free survival for the entire group is 76%.

The prognosis for survival of acute myelogenous leukemia in children in Norway is 65%, which is unsurpassed internationally.
