Extra osseous plasmocytoma

The diagnosis is made by histological examination of an extra osseous neoplasm and constitutes 3-5% of the plasma cell neoplasms. Eighty percent of the disease is located in the upper respiratory tract. Some patients may have monoclonal gammopathy.

The prognosis is good since few patients develop generalized disease.

Treatment

Treatment consists of radiation therapy as 2 Gy x 20. The definition of ITV and field borders follows the same principles as described under the section for follicular lymphomas.
